Sometimes as a photographer, you have to throw all of the rules out the window. Most do not know that there are various factors that make a print successful. It’s easy to grab a camera and go… pretty much spray and pray. I, however, would rather cue in on the technical aspects of lighting, posing, etc. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. But every once in a while, you just have to run and gun!

Such was the case with this guy. At his age, it’s pretty much a goal to see how fast he can get from point A to point B… and somehow I have to capture that. So I dropped the off-camera flashes, and the meter, and the reflectors, and REALLY tested myself on how quick I could react to the varying lighting as I chase him around the yard (we did not, however, consider the amount of chiggers in this particular yard). Here are a few images from his session. I would say that this is every bit of his personality- and we had a blast!
